Welcome to the African Regional Office of the International Association for Sustainable Economy (IASE). Our mission is to Advance the ESG Profession for a better world

As a certification body with a global presence, working closely in collaboration with global partners and subject matter experts, we are excited to lead in the development of globally accepted practice standards for the ESG profession.

For practitioners and people who want to become practitioners, we give you the chance and tools to help you become the best ESG professional.

For employers, we give you the chance to stand out by investing in your employees’ knowledge, skills, and professionalism to show that you care about ESG and sustainability.

Building the Africa we desire starts with prioritising ESG and ends with ESG professionals.

The time has never been more adequate for Africa to ingrain the ESG and sustainability logic matrix into its business model in order to effectively lead the delivery of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the High 5 Priorities set by the African Development Bank, agreements signed at the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP), regional and national agreements on inclusive growth, poverty reduction, and sustenance of a green economy. This begins with acquiring the right qualification and remaining relevant as a ESG and sustainability professional who applies the highest levels of excellence and ethics in the profession for the good of the public.

Public sectors, private sectors, NGOs and civil societies are key actors and beneficiaries on ESG and sustainability matters.

SERVING OUR MISSION

ADVANCING THE ESG PROFESSION FOR A BETTER WORLD

  • Developing world class certification and practice standards for the ESG prfoession
  • Advocate for the ESG profession to regulators, policymakers, employers and other stakeholders

IASE Certification standards

IASE certification programmes train and provide ESG professionals with the knowledge and essential skills they need. Gaining certification increases your earning potential, marketability, and employability.

Our two multi-level competency-based ESG certification programmes adhere to the International Standards Organisation’s (ISO) ISO/IEC 17024 conformity assessment, which outlines the standards for certifying the competence of persons.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN IASE GLOBAL AND IASE AFRICA

IASE Global, registered in London as a non-profit professional association, is the global standards-setting body for the ESG profession. It sets and implements internationally benchmarked certification and practice standards for the ESG profession. IASE awards the ISF® and ISB® credentials to qualifying individuals around the world. Both credentials symbolise competence and excellence in the fast-growing ESG profession the world over.

IASE works with global, regional, and local member organisations to spread its mission around the world. There are currently 38 such member organisations, of which IASE Africa (registered in South Africa as an NPC, with its head office in Johannesburg) is one.

Member organisations are responsible for implementing the IASE global programme locally. They also contribute to the development of global standards by contributing expertise to the relevant global committees and implementing those standards in their respective countries and regions.

By agreement with IASE Global, IASE Africa represents the whole of Africa (except Morocco). It is responsible for growing the profession in African countries until they can become full member organisations in their own right.
