ISB® Advisor

Competency Level: 1

The ISB® ADVISOR Certification Programme covers foundational knowledge on how to approach ESG according to the IASE Syllabus.

Date, Location and Fees

To be awarded the ISB® ADVISOR designation a candidate must have a minimum of an EQF Level 3 qualification (equivalent of a high school/matric/Grade 12/Standard 10 diploma/qualification in South Africa)

Suited to professionals in non-finance-related roles or businesses, including those in mining, manufacturing, retail, legal, environmental production, agriculture, procurement management, government, non-profit organisations and so on.

IASE uses a combination of biometric and webcam technologies to invigilate the exams. Candidates have a choice of 4 sessions a year to take the exam.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidate must be at least 16 years old at the time of applying for certification

To be awarded the ISB® ADVISOR designation a candidates must:

  • Agree to abide IASE’s By-Laws, Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility, and Disciplinary Regulations as amended from time to time.
  • No criminal record
  • Never had a final sanction imposed on him/her by a court, regulator, or any other lawful authority for a serious offence.
  • Never been disqualified under any law or expelled by any professional association from practicing a specific profession.
  • Never faced any other similar remedial action/s related to professional conduct or unethical practice/s.

Candidates who have met all the above minimum requirements can apply to be awarded the official ISB® ADVISOR professional designation. The current application fee is Є75,00(~ USD173,03)

IASE shall officially award all successful candidates the rights and privileges of using the ISF® professional designation for the level applied for. Candidates can then proudly communicate their hard-earned accomplishment publicly, including appending their designation to their names (eg Jane Doe ISB®) on their business cards, email signature, or LinkedIn profile.

In addition, the names of all successful applicants shall then be added to IASE’s public directory of ESG professionals in the world.

In accordance with international best practice for professional bodies, IASE’s certification standards require all it professional designations holders, to re-certify annually in order to retain their ISB ADVISOR designation.

Re-certification entails the following:

  1. Submit evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
  2. Re-affirm your commitment to IASE’s Code of Conduct and Professional Responsibility
  3. Annual Declaration of Good Standing
  4. Pay an re-certification fee (Currently: Є75,00(~ USD173,03))

Board Exam Information

All of our board exams are available as online remote proctored exams, which require a desktop or laptop computer, an internet connection, a working webcam, and a microphone.
